Set up a 5000 series indicator to record pregnancy scan results with a Ovi-Scan-6 device directly into a custom made data field (XR5000) or the Trait field (ID5000 and JR5000).

You can use the recorded pregnancy data to make informed decisions about managing your ewes (e.g., culling twice dry ewes) or set up a draft from the scan results to separate ewes into mobs based on the number of lambs they are having.

Note: To use an Ovi-Scan device, you will need to purchase one of our serial adaptors. Contact your local territory manager to purchase one.

Watch the video to learn how to:

  • Set up or modify a data field on the 5000 series

  • Modify the connection settings for the Ovi-Scan-6

  • Set up the weigh screen for recording pregnancy scan results

Note: In this video we use the XR5000 as an example, the process is different for the other 5000 series indicators, you need to modify the Trait field to have input from the Ovi-Scan-6.

Tip: Set up the pregnancy scan data field name with a year code at the end (e.g., Preg Scan 21) so you can upload each years results to Datamars Livestock to view each years results.
