Setting up weighing on an EziWeigh7i indicator

You can adjust the weighing settings on your EziWeigh7i indicator if the default settings are not suitable.

Updated over a week ago

When you first set up your EziWeigh7i indicator, the load bars connected should be automatically detected, and the default weighing settings can be used. However, you may want to check and adjust these settings to better suit what you are weighing.

To set up the weighing settings on an EziWeigh7i indicator:

  1. Press MENU, then V (down arrow) repeatedly until Setups... is displayed.
Press ENTER to access the Setups menu.

  2. Press V repeatedly until Resolution is displayed.
Press ENTER to access the Resolution menu.

Set Resolution to 0.5 kg (default). This is fine for most purposes and the indicator will automatically use a larger resolution for heavier weights and a smaller resolution for lighter weights anyway.

💡 You may want to use a finer resolution (0.1 or 0.2 kg) if you are weighing lambs or other small loads, however, the finer the resolution, the longer it will take for the weight to be established.
💡 You may want to change the Resolution to 1 kg if you are weighing animals just below or just above 250 kg and you want all weights to display to the nearest 1 kg. This would make it easier to read on the display.

  3. Press V repeatedly until Auto Zero is displayed.
Set Auto Zero to ON (default). Only set this to Off if you are filling a container e.g. weighing grain.

  4. Press V repeatedly until Damp System is displayed.
    Set Damp System to:
    - Superdamp III (Cattle) if weighing cattle.
    - Superdamp III (Sheep) if weighing sheep.
    - Averaging if weighing grain, liquid or fleece. You can set the weighing time (a short time will increase the speed of weighing but a long time will increase the accuracy). Experiment with the weighing time to suit what you are weighing.

  5. Press V repeatedly until Load Bar Type is displayed.
Set Load Bar Type to Tru-Test if you are using any type of Tru-Test load bars. Otherwise, select from the list. If your load bars are not listed, select Tru-Test, stand on the scale and test that the weight is correct. If not, perform a Span Calibration.
