Changing the energizer output settings using Datamars Pro

You can change the energizer's mode and target voltage settings using Datamars Pro

This article applies to:

  • U20000W, U15000W, U15000W-E Unigizers

  • 31000W, 46000W, 86000W Mains Energizers*

* If you previously used the Datamars Livestock mobile app with your energizer, download the Datamars Pro mobile app for improved performance. Log in using your old credentials, no further setup is required.

The energizer output settings can be changed, if desired. The settings used will depend on where your energizer is being used, what type of animals you are controlling and whether you are powering your energizer with a battery.

24 Hour Mode

In 24 hour mode (default), the energizer will operate at the same target output voltage and pulse speed at all times.

In 24 hour mode, the target output voltage can be reduced from Full output voltage (default) to Half output voltage. This can be useful if the energizer is in an area where people might be (e.g. around a house or next to a public roadway) and you want to reduce the voltage.

Day/Night Mode

In Day/Night mode, the energizer's target output, pulse speed, notification thresholds can all be customised. This can be useful to conserve battery power if the energizer is being powered by battery. The settings used will depend on whether animals are active during the day or at night:

Target Output

Pulse Speed

Animals active during the day

Set Target Output to Full during the day and Half during the night.

Set Pulse Speed to be faster e.g. 1.5 s during the day and slower e.g. 3.0 s at night.

📝 In Day/Night mode, energizer notification thresholds (warning and critical) can be customised for the different times of day.

To change the energizer mode and target voltage settings:

  1. In the Devices screen, scroll down to the Fence Monitoring panel and tap on Energizers. All energizers registered to the farm are listed.

  2. Tap on the energizer you want to change.

  3. Tap on the Settings icon and change the energizer mode and output settings, as required:

The target output voltage is the maximum voltage you would like the energizer to reach. Normally, the target output would be set to 9.5 kV (31000W and 46000W models) or 10.0 kV (86000W model). However, you may want to lower the voltage in an area where people might be (e.g. around a house or next to a public roadway).

  2. Tap on the energizer you want to change.

  3. Tap on the Settings icon then Change target output.

  4. Change the target output voltage, as required.
