Programming a connected energizer to communicate with a remote control using Datamars Pro

If you are using an optional remote control with your connected energizer, you need to programme them so that they can communicate.

This article applies to:

  • U20000W, U15000W and U15000W-E Unigizers

  • 31000W, 46000W, 86000W connected energizers

  • Speedrite, Stafix and PEL Remote Control Fault Finders

💡 The procedure below is only for the connected energizer models listed above. If you have a non-connected energizer model, it cannot be used with the mobile app. Instead, the energizer and remote control can be paired manually.

📝 This procedure can only be performed in the mobile app, not the web app.

Pairing the energizer and remote control

The energizer and remote control must be set to the same address setting in order to communicate. The address setting is a number between 1 and 15.

To programme a connected energizer to communicate with a remote control, there are three steps:

Step 1 - Identify the energizer address (and/or change the address) using the mobile app

  1. In the Devices screen, scroll down to the Fence Monitoring panel and tap on Energizers. All energizers registered to the farm are listed.

  2. Tap on the energizer you want to change.

  3. Tap on the Settings icon.

  4. View the Current address.
💡 If necessary, tap Change address and select a new address.

Step 2 - Set the remote control to match the energizer's address setting

  1. On the remote control, press and hold , then press to enter the Setup menu.

  2. Press repeatedly until you get to the Address (Ad) option.

  3. Press repeatedly until you get to the matching address setting.

  4. Press. A moving arrow appears on the display.
After a few seconds, the remote control will switch off.

Step 3 - Test the energizer with the remote control

  1. Make sure that the energizer is on and pulsing.

  2. Press to switch on the remote control.

  3. Stand beside the energizer and press.
The green light should flash to indicate that the energizer is in Standby mode.

Having problems?

  • If your energizer is frequently switching to Standby mode unexpectedly, a neighbour's remote control may be affecting your energizer. Change the energizer and remote control address settings to a new address.

  • If you have several remote-capable energizers on your farm, change the energizer and remote control address settings to match for ease of use.

  • If you have several remote-capable energizers on your farm and the remote control is controlling the wrong energizer, change each energizer to a unique address setting.
📝This will mean you need to go into the remote control Setup menu each time you want to control a different energizer.
