Exporting a list of animals and weights (using Datamars Livestock with weigh scale indicators)

You can export a list of animals and weights as a .csv file

When using Datamars Livestock with weigh scale indicators, you can export a list of animals and weights and save the .csv file to your PC. You can then view and edit data in MS Excel or similar.

This can be useful in order to reconcile your database of animals in Datamars Livestock with other farm records.

Example: You want to check that your current animal records match the database held by a national traceability programme such as NAIT or NLIS. The easiest way to do this is to:

  1. If you haven't done so already, transfer session files to Datamars Livestock:

  2. In Datamars Livestock, view a list of animals together with weights. Export the list of animals to your PC (see instructions below).

  3. Open the list of animals in Excel, sort by the date when animals were last weighed or had data recorded. Remove any non-current animals. Now you have a list of all current animals.

To export a list of animals and weights from Datamars Livestock:

  1. Click on Weights.

  2. Click on All animals.

  3. Select the columns of data you need:

  4. Click Export.

  5. The file will be downloaded as a .csv file which can be viewed and edited in MS Excel or similar.
