Unpairing an active tag

If you receive a 'tag off' alert, confirm that the active tag is off the animal then unpair it.

An active tag should be unpaired if you receive a tag off alert and you have confirmed that the animal is no longer fitted with the active tag.

A 'tag off' alert will be sent if:

  • An active tag has fallen off an animal OR

  • An active tag has been removed from an animal but has not been put to sleep.

A 'tag off' alert will be sent within 3 hours of an active tag being removed and will continue you have unpaired the active tag or marked the animal as sold or died.

Tip: If an active tag has fallen off but is still in range of the gateway, you can use Find My Cow to locate it.

To view a list of all animals with 'tags off' in the web app:

  1. Click on My Devices, Active Tags.
    A list of all active tags will be displayed.

  2. Use filters to display a list of all animals with a State of Tag off animal.

  3. Unpair active tags, as required:

To search for a particular animal and unpair an active tag in the web app:

  1. Click on My Herd, then Animals.

  2. Search for the animal record and click to open it.

    In the graph you can see when the 'tag off' alert began.

  3. After confirming that the animal is no longer fitted to the animal, click Unpair:

To view a list of all animals with 'tags off' in the mobile app:

  1. On the Home screen, in the Active Tag section, tap More.
    A list of all active tags will be displayed.

  2. Tap State and use filters to display a list of all animals with a State of Off animal.

  3. Unpair active tags, as required:

To search for a particular animal and unpair an active tag in the mobile app:

  1. On the Home screen, tap All Animals.

  2. Search for the animal record and tap to open it.

    In the graph you can see when the 'tag off' alert began.

  3. After confirming that the animal is no longer fitted to the animal, tap Unpair:
