Using a reproduction issues action list

Use a Repro Issues Action List to select a sub-set of animals from the Reproduction Issues report

Updated yesterday

Within the Reproduction Issues report, you can create an action list. The Repro Issues Action List consists of one or more rules, allowing you to quickly select a subset of animals for follow-up actions. A Repro Issues Action List must be created in the Datamars Livestock web app, not the mobile app.

To create a Repro Issues Action List rule:

  1. Click on Reproduction.

  2. Under Repro Issues action list, click + Add new rule.

  3. Apply criteria.
For example, you could create a rule to select animals in their first lactation cycle which are anestrous:

📝 If you have more than one rule, the Repro Issues Action List will combine all animals selected by the various rules together in one place.

✋ It is important to understand that by using an action list, you are excluding some animals which have presented with reproduction issues. When you first set up and use a Repro Issues Action List, we recommend checking the main Repro Issues report regularly to make sure you are not missing animals with genuine reproduction issues but do not match the rules you have set up in your Repro Issues Action List. You may need to edit the rules to get the right balance between under-reporting and over-reporting.

You can then use the Repro Issues Action List as the basis to draft and check animals (see below).

Drafting animals

Draft animals and check them using your normal methods e.g. Get a vet to check anestrous animals and treat them so they are cycling before mating begins.
