You can create or manage groups using Datamars Livestock (web app) or Datamars Pro (mobile app). The groups are stored in the Datamars Livestock cloud platform and are available in both apps.
Active Tag - You should create groups to match the physical herds, mobs or pens on the farm e.g. Herd 1, Herd 2, Sick Mob. For more information, see Using groups in the Datamars Livestock platform (Active Tag)
WOW or weigh scale indicators - You should create groups to allow you to track animals from the same stock class against a target weight over a period of time. See Using groups in the Datamars Livestock platform (weigh scale indicators).
You can create a new group or move an animal into a different group using Datamars Pro (mobile app) OR Datamars Livestock (web app). However, you must use the web app to:
Edit group settings
Archive unused groups
Configuring default groups
📝 An animal can only belong to one group at a time.
📝 You must have admin permissions to create or modify groups.
To create a new group in the mobile app:
Tap My Herd, then Groups.
Tap + in the top, right-hand corner.
Name the group to match the group on your farm. Tap Confirm.
To create a new group in the web app:
Click on My Herd, then Groups.
Click on Add Group in the top, right-hand corner.
Name the group to match the group on your farm and optionally add a description. Click Save group.
