When you create a group of animals in Datamars Livestock, you can set up a target weight plan to monitor their progress against desired weights.
You may want to change a group's target weight as more animals are added, or when you move animals to another group.
Features of a target weight plan
1 | The starting month is typically the date when animals arrived on your farm and the average weight for the group on that date. |
2 | The finishing month is typically the date you intend selling an animals and the predicted average weight for the group on that date. |
3 | You can customise the growth rates for each month based on the seasons. For example, you may expect lower weight gains in winter months and increased weight gains in spring. |
4 | You can add extra months, by clicking on + and selecting a month to add. |
Setting up a group target weight plan
To set up a group target weight plan:
Launch Datamars Livestock.
In the left menu, click on Weights.
Choose the group you want to edit, click ... on the top right-hand side, then click Edit.
In the Target weight plan section, change the start and end dates and the associated weights.
Add more dates and associated weights in the Customise section.
Click on Save group.
