Setting up weighing on a 5000 indicator

You can adjust the weighing settings on your 5000 indicator if the default settings are not suitable.

Updated this week

When you first set up your 5000 indicator, the load bars connected should be automatically detected, and the default weighing settings can be used. However, you may want to check and adjust these settings to better suit what you are weighing.

To set up the weighing settings on a 5000 indicator:

  1. From the Home screen, tap Settings, Next page then Weighing Settings.

    Set Damp System to
    - Superdamp 4 (Cattle) if weighing cattle.
    - Superdamp 4 (Sheep) if weighing sheep.
    - Averaging if weighing grain, liquids or fleece. You can set the weighing time (a short time will increase the speed of weighing but a long time will increase the accuracy). Experiment with the weighing time to suit what you are weighing.

  2. Set Resolution to 0.5 kg (default). This is fine for most purposes and the indicator will automatically use a larger resolution for heavier weights and a smaller resolution for lighter weights anyway.

💡 You may want to use a finer resolution (0.1 or 0.2 kg) if you are weighing lambs or other small loads, however, the finer the resolution, the longer it will take for the weight to be established.
💡 You may want to change the Resolution to 1 kg if you are weighing animals just below or just above 250 kg and you want all weights to display to the nearest 1 kg. This would make it easier to read on the display.

  3. Set Load Bar Type to Tru-Test if you are using any type of Tru-Test load bars. Otherwise, select from the list. If your load bars are not listed, set to Tru-Test, stand on the scale and test that the weight is correct. If not, perform a Span Calibration.

  4. Enable Power Up Zero (default). Only disable this if you need to manually zero the scale when the indicator is switched on.

  5. Set Auto Zero Track to On Net (default). Only set this to Off if you are filling a container e.g. weighing grain.

  6. Disable Reverse Weighing (default). Only enable this option if you are feeding out from a full trailer of feed.

  7. Set Tare to 0.0 kg (default). Only enter a weight if you have an empty container/pallet, you know its exact weight and it is inconvenient to tare the empty container.
