Installing the Datamars Pro mobile app

Install the Datamars Pro mobile app to control devices and view data whether you're out in the yards or at home.

This article applies to:

  • XR5000, ID5000, JR5000 weigh scale indicators

  • XRS2i, XRS2, SRS2i, SRS2 EID stick readers

  • XRP2i, XRP2* EID panel readers

  • S3 indicator

  • EziWeigh7i indicator

*XRP2 EID panel reader supported in Datamars Pro for Android only

  • 31000W, 46000W, 86000W Mains Energizers

  • U20000W, U15000W, U15000W-E Unigizers**

** If you previously used the Datamars Livestock mobile app with your energizer, download the Datamars Pro mobile app for improved performance. Log in using your old credentials, no further setup is required.

Downloading Datamars Pro

The Datamars Pro mobile app is available for free from the Google Play Store (Android devices) or App Store (Apple iOS devices):

📝 To use Datamars Pro, your mobile device must be running Android 11 or later, or iOS 16 or later.

Installing Datamars Pro, registering a new account and logging in

To install the Datamars Pro mobile app:

  1. Launch the Google Play Store or App Store on your mobile device.

  2. Type Datamars Pro into the search bar and follow the download instructions.

  3. Either:

Tap Register to set up a new account in Datamars Livestock.

Tap Log in and enter your Datamars Livestock credentials if you already have an account.

Tap Continue without logging in.

💡 You should only register for a new account if you don't already have an account in Datamars Livestock.

e.g. You already have a Datamars Livestock account for use with Active Tag, Autonomous Weighing, Dairy Drafter/Sort Gate, Fence Monitoring, Connected Energizer, Weigh Scale Indicator or EID Reader.

Only use this option if you are using Datamars Pro with weigh scale indicators or EID readers.

📝If you don't log in, you will not be able to send sessions to Datamars Livestock, NAIT, NLIS, SNIG or Senesa.

🤚 After installing the Datamars Pro app, you must go into the mobile app permission settings and make sure Bluetooth Location and Notifications are ON (see below).

Changing the Datamars Pro app settings

Modify the phone settings and app settings so that you can connect to devices and receive notifications.

Apple iPhone - Datamars Pro settings

  • The phone's Bluetooth setting must be ON.

  • The Location and Bluetooth™ settings must be ON for the Datamars Pro app.

To enable Bluetooth on an Apple iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Enable Bluetooth.

To check the settings for Datamars Pro on an Apple iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings and search for Datamars Pro.

  2. Set Location to While Using the App or Always.
    Set Bluetooth to ON.

Android smartphones - Datamars Pro settings

  • The phone's Bluetooth setting must be ON.

  • the Location and Storage settings must be ON for the Datamars Pro app.

To turn Bluetooth ON on an Android iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings / Connections.

  2. Enable Bluetooth.

To check the settings for Datamars Pro on an Android smartphone:

  1. Go to Settings / Apps and search for Datamars Pro.

  2. Tap Permissions.

  3. Set Location to Allow only while using the app or Allow all the time.


Next steps:

  1. The farm owner or manager needs to go to a PC and log into the Datamars Livestock web app, invite other users to the farm and set their permissions.

  2. Every staff member must download and install the Datamars Pro mobile app and accept their invitation to join the farm.

  3. Every staff member should set up their own notifications. Notifications can be customised - email or push notifications and specific notifications can be selected, depending on the devices being used.
