Troubleshooting connection issues in the Datamars Pro mobile app

Try the following checks if you are having trouble connecting to your device in the Datamars Pro mobile app

Check you have the latest version of Datamars Pro

  1. Go to the Google Play store (Android smartphones) or App store (Apple iPhones):

  2. Search for Datamars Pro and tap Update:


Check that Bluetooth® is enabled on your Tru-Test device

JR5000, ID5000, XR5000 weigh scale indicators

XRS2i, SRS2i, XRS2, SRS2, XRP2i, XRP2 EID readers

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth.

  2. Set Bluetooth to Auto.

EziWeigh7i, S3 indicators

Bluetooth is always ON.


Check the settings on an XRS2i/SRS2i/XRS2/SRS2 EID Stick Reader

The Bluetooth Connect Mode and Output settings must be set to default.

  1. Go to Settings / Bluetooth. Set Bluetooth to [Auto].

  2. In the Settings / Bluetooth / Advanced menu, check that Connect Mode and Output are set to [Default].


Check that the Tru-Test device is not connected to another device

When you power on the Tru-Test device, the Bluetooth symbol/LED should be OFF. If it is ON, you will need to unpair/forget the Bluetooth connection (see below), then retry pairing in the Datamars Pro app.


Check the Datamars Pro app settings

Apple iPhone - Datamars Pro settings

  • The phone's Bluetooth setting must be ON.

  • The Location and Bluetooth™ settings must be ON for the Datamars Pro app.

To enable Bluetooth on an Apple iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Enable Bluetooth.

To check the settings for Datamars Pro on an Apple iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings and search for Datamars Pro.

  2. Set Location to While Using the App or Always.
    Set Bluetooth to ON.

Android smartphones - Datamars Pro settings

  • The phone's Bluetooth setting must be ON.

  • the Location and Storage settings must be ON for the Datamars Pro app.

To turn Bluetooth ON on an Android iPhone:

  1. Go to Settings / Connections.

  2. Enable Bluetooth.

To check the settings for Datamars Pro on an Android smartphone:

  1. Go to Settings / Apps and search for Datamars Pro.

  2. Tap Permissions.

  3. Set Location to Allow only while using the app or Allow all the time.


Check that your Tru-Test device is supported by Datamars Pro

  1. Datamars Pro supports these Tru-Test devices:
    XR5000, ID5000, JR5000 weigh scale indicators

    XRS2i, SRS2i EID stick readers

    XRP2i, XRP2* EID panel readers

    S3 indicator

    EziWeigh7i indicator
    *XRP2 EID panel reader supported in Datamars Pro for Android only

  2. If you have one of the products below, you will need to use Data Link PC software to get data off your device:

  • S2 weigh scale indicator

  • XRS EID stick reader

  • EziWeigh7 indicator

  • 3000 indicator


Check that your mobile device is compatible

Your mobile device must be running Android 11 or later, or iOS 16 or later.


Try unpairing (forgetting) the Bluetooth device

If Bluetooth was working previously but has stopped functioning, open your phone’s Bluetooth settings and unpair or “forget” the device, then try pairing it again.

Android smartphones - forgetting a Bluetooth device

  1. Go to Settings / Connections

  2. Tap Bluetooth.

  3. Tap the Settings icon beside the device you want to unpair, then tap Unpair.

Apple iPhones - forgetting a Bluetooth device

  1. Go to Settings / Bluetooth.

  2. Select the device you want to unpair, then tap Forget This Device.


After performing all of the above checks, attempt to connect your device to the Datamars Pro mobile app again.
