Cows are prey animals and can be cautious of anything new in their environment. Introducing animals to the Dairy Drafter should be done gradually to build confidence and encourage smooth movement through the system.

Turn off the air supply to disable the gates.

The gates need to be open, but do not need to function during this first step.

Allow cows to pass straight through the Dairy Drafter:

2. Allow cows to pass straight through the Dairy Drafter:

Open the left drafting gate and allow cows to pass through one side:

Open the right drafting gate and allow cows to pass through the other side:

Your cows should be calm and comfortable around the Dairy Drafter:
