Reasons why an animal did not get drafted

If an animal has not been drafted, check the Not drafted details column for a possible cause:

Information in the 'Not Drafted Details' column

Possible cause...

Did not pass

The animal was not identified by the Dairy Drafter. Normally this is because she didn't pass through the drafter. There is a small chance that the animal passed through the drafter without being identified.

Passed before being added

The animal had already passed through the drafter before being added to the draft list.

No EID assigned
No active tag assigned

The animal in the draft list doesn't have an active tag or EID assigned.

  • Check the animal record in Datamars Livestock to make sure that the IDs are correct.

  • Check to see whether the EID tag or active tag is still fitted to the animal.

Could not be drafted

Animal was identified, but not drafted, cause unknown.

To check which animals have been drafted:

  1. Click on Drafting.

  2. Select a previous draft list from the History section.

  3. Click on Drafted to see only the animals which were successfully drafted.

  4. Click on Not Drafted to see only animals which were not drafted. The Not drafted details column displays the reason why an animal was not drafted:

📝 If an animal was automatically added to a draft list for heat or health but was NOT drafted during a milking session, she will automatically be added to the next relevant draft list, provided that she is still on heat or has a health issue. This does not apply to animals which were manually added to the draft list.
