These setup instructions apply to the XR5000, ID5000 and JR5000 indicators (although instructions are slightly different for each model).
📝 The Te Pari Dosing Gun connects to the 5000 indicator via a phone app. The instructions provided here are for Android phones only. iPhones are not supported.
Before you start
Update the 5000 indicator firmware to Version 4.3 or above, using Data Link PC Software.
Download the Te Pari Dosing Gun app from the Google Play Store.
Ensure that the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth™ settings are enabled on your Android phone.
Ensure that the Bluetooth setting is enabled on your 5000 indicator.
Setting up the Te Pari Revolution Dosing Gun
On the 5000 indicator, start a new session:
Check that the indicator is receiving weights by putting a test weight on the scales:
On the Dosing Gun, press and navigate to the Wi-Fi menu. Enable Wi-Fi.
Press again to access the Edit Wi-Fi menu. Use the arrow keys to select , then Te Pari app:
Press again to access the DG SSID menu. Use the arrows to select Te Pari:
Press again to access the Wi-Fi Security menu. Use the arrows to select X:
Setting up the Te Pari Dosing Gun app
Make sure that the 5000 indicator and the Dosing Gun are both ON.
If connecting to the 5000 indicator for the first time, go to the Bluetooth settings on your Android phone and pair to the 5000 indicator:
Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your Android phone and connect to the TePari network.
Launch the app on the Android phone.
Go into the Settings menu and select Tru-Test.
Tap New Session. Complete the fields to set the dosing, then tap Save & Start:
Tap Connect, then Weigh Scale then tap on the indicator (e.g. XR5000).
The app screen will now show that the 5000 indicator is connected. Tap Close.
The Dosing Gun will display with a small Wi-Fi connected symbol in the top, left corner.
Now, when an animal steps onto the scale, the Dosing Gun will display the dose. Pull the trigger to deliver the dose. The app will display both the animal weight and the dose:
📝 To record animal IDs on the Dosing Gun during the session, you can either enter a VID manually in the app or connect an EID Reader to the app and scan animal EIDs as they are weighed and treated.
