Step by step - Migrating to the new, integrated Datamars Livestock platform and Datamars Pro mobile app

Follow these steps to migrate from the legacy platform to the new Datamars Livestock integrated platform and Datamars Pro mobile app

This article applies to customers with:

  • XR5000, ID5000, JR5000 weigh scale indicators

  • XRS2i, XRS2, SRS2i, SRS2 EID stick readers

  • XRP2i, XRP2* EID panel readers

  • S3 weigh scale indicator

  • EziWeigh7i weigh scale indicator

*XRP2 EID panel readers are only supported in Datamars Pro for Android

Step 1 - Download and install the new Datamars Pro mobile app

The Datamars Pro mobile app replaces the Data Link app. To get started:

  1. Go to the Google Play store (Android smartphones) or App store (Apple iPhones):

  2. Search for Datamars Pro, then download and install the app.

Step 2 - Launch the Datamars Pro mobile app

  1. Launch the Datamars Pro mobile app.

  2. Tap Register to create a new user account in Datamars Livestock

    ๐Ÿ’ก OR Tap Log in if you already have a Datamars Livestock account for another Tru-Test product such as Active Tag, Autonomous Weighing, Dairy Drafter/Sort Gate, Fence Monitoring or Connected Energizer. Do not create a new user account if you are already using Datamars Livestock. Skip to step 5.

  3. Complete your details.

  4. Go to your emails and click on the verification link.

  5. Go back to the Datamars Pro app, click Log in and enter your credentials.

  6. If this is a new account, you will be prompted to create a new farm and set it as the default farm.

  7. If you have data on the old legacy platform, go to Menu / General Settings / Begin Migration to migrate the data to the new Datamars Livestock platform.

๐Ÿ“ The data transfer should be complete within 24 hours.

๐Ÿ“ If you have multiple farms, set up the primary (default) farm then see What if I have multiple farms?

๐Ÿ“ The first time you register a transaction with a national traceability programme, you may need to enter your NAIT or NLIS details.

๐Ÿ“ The farm owner or manager needs to log in to the Datamars Livestock web app and invite users to their farm. Every staff member must install the Datamars Pro app on their mobile phone and accept their invitation to join the farm. This will mean that data from all devices will go to the same Datamars Livestock account.

Step 3 - Update Data Link PC software

Data Link PC software has been updated to send sessions to the integrated Datamars Livestock platform.

  1. Download the new version of Data Link PC software here.

  2. Right-click on the downloaded file and select Extract all, then save to the same location.

  3. Open the extracted folder and select the .exe file to install the new version of Data Link PC software.

๐Ÿ“ The first time you upload sessions to Datamars Livestock using Data Link PC software, enter your new Datamars Livestock login details when prompted:

๐Ÿ’ก Select Remember me [โœ”] so you don't have to re-enter your details each time.


๐Ÿ“ If registering a transaction with a national traceability programme, you may also need to re-enter your NAIT or NLIS details.

Step 4 - Update the firmware on your 5000 indicator

The firmware has been updated for XR5000, ID5000 and JR5000 weigh scale indicators. This allows you to send sessions to the integrated Datamars Livestock platform.

  1. Download the new version of the 5000 firmware here.

  2. Launch Data Link PC software.

  3. Connect your 5000 indicator to the PC using the cables supplied.

  4. Go to Tools / Updates / Update device firmware from a file.

  5. Select the downloaded file.
    Once complete, unplug the 5000 indicator to install the firmware.

๐Ÿ“ The first time you upload sessions to Datamars Livestock via Wi-Fi, enter your new Datamars Livestock details when prompted:
