After connecting the S3 indicator to Datamars Pro, you can record weighing sessions with weights and optional IDs.
You can then:
view sessions
When weighing, you can choose to record:
Weights only ⚡FAST⚡
Weights and VIDs
Weights and EIDs (by connecting an XRS2i EID stick reader or SRS2i EID stick reader). ⚡FAST and ACCURATE⚡
Weights, EIDs (by connecting an XRS2i EID stick reader or SRS2i EID stick reader), VIDs and/or LIDs
💡 If you intend transferring weighing sessions to Datamars Livestock to track individual animal weight gain, you need to enter an ID (either VID or EID). The ID in the weighing session will be matched up with the ID in the Datamars Livestock database.
If you need to pause during a weighing session for any reason, you can resume any weighing session previously recorded.
📝 If you resume a session, it will be updated (overwritten) in Datamars Pro. If you have already transferred it to Datamars Livestock and you resend the updated session, it will be updated (overwritten) in Datamars Livestock.
Sessions will remain on the app until you manually delete them. Note that deleting sessions from the Datamars Pro app does not delete them from Datamars Livestock.

Recording weights and scanning EIDs (entering VID/LIDs - optional)
Recording weights and scanning EIDs (entering VID/LIDs - optional)
When starting a weighing session, you can optionally connect an EID stick reader to the S3 via Bluetooth, allowing you to scan EIDs while weighing. This is the fastest and most accurate method of weighing with IDs because you can scan an animal's EID with the stick reader instead of manually typing its VID.
📝 Only XRS2i EID stick reader or SRS2i EID stick reader models are supported for use with an S3 indicator. Older XRS2 and SRS2 EID stick reader models cannot be used.
When using an EID stick reader to scan animals, there are two ways to record weights:
The standard Press Record method - Scan the EID, optionally enter an animal VID and/or LID, wait for the animal weight then press Record.
The fast Auto Record method using the Auto Progression option - Scan the EID and Datamars Pro will automatically record when it has both a weight and an EID.
🤚When using the Auto Record method (Auto Progression), the order is very important. You must scan the EID last (after animal has stepped onto the load bars and after its VID/LID has been entered - optional).
To record weights and EIDs (VID and/or LID optional):
Configure the S3 weighing settings, if necessary.
Tap Start new session.
Tap Start Weighing session.
Change the name of the session (optional).
Tap EID Stick Reader to connect to an XRS2i or SRS2i EID stick reader
📝The EID reader must be ON.Tap Start Session.
Slide Auto-Progression to ON for auto recording (optional).
When the animal steps onto the load bars, enter a VID and/or LID (optional), scan the EID and press Record.
If Auto-Progression is on, Datamars Pro will record as soon as it has both a weight and an EID.
The scale will automatically zero between animals, depending on the S3 settings.
When weighing is complete, tap Finish.
