Recording weights on an S3 indicator using the Datamars Pro mobile app

Once the S3 indicator is connected to Datamars Pro, you can record weighing sessions

After connecting the S3 indicator to Datamars Pro, you can record weighing sessions with weights and IDs.

You can then:

  • view sessions

  • send weighing sessions to Datamars Livestock

  • email sessions to someone

  • share sessions via text message or other app or

  • send sessions to a National Traceability program such as NAIT, NLIS or SNIG

When starting a new weighing session, you can optionally connect an XRS2i EID stick reader or SRS2i EID stick reader to scan and record animal EIDs as you weigh.

📝 Older XRS2 and SRS2 EID stick reader models are not supported for use with an S3 indicator.

If you need to pause during a weighing session for any reason, you can resume any weighing session previously recorded.

📝 If you resume a session which has previously been transferred to Datamars Livestock, it will be updated (overwritten) in Datamars Pro AND Datamars Livestock.

Sessions will remain on the app until you manually delete them. Note that deleting sessions from the Datamars Pro app does not delete them from Datamars Livestock.

To record weights and IDs:

  1. Connect the S3 indicator to Datamars Pro.

  2. Configure the S3 weighing settings, if necessary.

  3. Tap Start new session.

  4. Tap Start Weighing session.

  5. Change the name of the session (optional) or connect an XRS2i or SRS2i EID stick reader in order to scan EIDs while you weigh (optional).

  6. Tap Start Session.

  7. When the animal steps onto the load bars, enter a VID and press Record.

    The scale will automatically zero between animals, depending on the S3 settings.
