Top tips for drafting

When to use this option

REC key is pressed, so you can first enter other information

You want to check that the weight or other information is accurate OR you want to enter other information such as a condition score before drafting occurs.

Automatic, when weight is stable

  • ID optional, do not wait for ID.

You want to draft as quickly as possible. An ID will be recorded if available, but it will not wait.

  • ID required, wait for up to # seconds for ID, then draft to X

You want to draft out animals with missing or faulty tags. The indicator will wait a short time for an ID such as an EID and then if no ID is received, the animal will be drafted into a pen so that the ID can be checked, fixed and the animal re-weighed.

  • ID required, wait until ID is received

You want to ensure that an ID Is recorded and will wait until one is entered/received.

💡 Use short labels on the Weigh screen

In the Drafting configuration screen, use short labels for drafting groups (fewer than 5 characters) so that they fit on the Weigh screen:

💡 Save a drafting configuration as a Favourite setup

After you have set up your indicator, you can save the drafting configuration to use in the future.

  1. From the Home screen, go to Settings, Favourites, Save New.

💡 Recalculate results after weighing

After you have finished a weighing session, you can recalculate the draft results using new parameters. This allows you to test 'what-if' scenarios.

To recalculate results:
