Where do I view animals with reproductive issues?

We recommend using the Datamars Livestock mobile app. On the dashboard, tap on Repro Issues. Here you can see animals which:

  • are Anestrous - have not had a heat after calving.

  • are having Irregular heats - too many heats in a short space of time

How can I ensure that animals are in optimal condition at breeding?

Using a voluntary waiting period (VWP) will allow you to choose whether to inseminate a young animal or an animal who has recently calved. This can provide benefits for animal health and welfare. It may also optimise the chances of an animal becoming pregnant.

How can I see animals which have not been inseminated or require a pregnancy scan?

Use the web app to view a breeding report. Here you can see all breeding information at a glance. The breeding report can be exported as a .csv file and printed, if required.

How can I see animals which are expected to calf, animals which are expected to dry off and the pregnancy probability for animals?

Use the web app to view a pregnancy report. Here you can see all information about inseminated and pregnant animals at a glance. The pregnancy report can be exported as a .csv file and printed, if required.

How can I see animals which have recently calved?

Use the mobile app or web app to view a likely calved report. Here you can see a list of animals that have likely calved in the last 24 hrs. You can also configure notifications so that you are alerted when an animal has calved.

Why are there so many animals identified as Anestrous in the Repro Issues report?

Go to Repro Issues and select the filter for Anestrous animals. All animals identified as Anestrous will be displayed. Change the filters to get useful information. For example:

  1. Change the filter for Last Calving to display only animals which are >35 days post calving.

  2. Change the sort order to view animals with fewer than 6 lactations who may benefit from interventions or a vet examination. You may opt to flag animals with more than 6 lactations as empty.
