Connecting your Cabled Remote Control, or pairing your Radio Remote Control.

Updated yesterday

This article applies to Prattley series 600 autodrafters:

  • 3-Way Swing Gate AutoDrafter

  • 5-Way Swing Gate AutoDrafter

  • 2-Way Electric AutoDrafter

  • 3-Way Slide Gate AutoDrafter

  • 3-Way Electric AutoDrafter

These autodrafters include a PAD6 control unit and a 5000 indicator (JR5000, ID5000 or XR5000).

The PAD6 Remote Control is a handheld device and allows you to remotely connect to a Prattley PAD6 system and drive the operation of the autodrafter.

It is available as a radio or cabled model:

Connecting your Remote Control

Both models need to be connected to the PAD6 control unit to operate.

Cabled Remote Control connection

If you are using a Cabled Remote Control insert the end of the cable into the circular USB socket on the side of the PAD6 control unit (as shown).

When the PAD6 control unit is powered up and ready for drafting, the Cabled Remote Control should operate.

Radio Remote Control connection

Connection of the Radio Remote Control requires pairing via Bluetooth.

Checking the Bluetooth connections

Ensure the Prattley PAD6 system is powered up and the Bluetooth connection is up and running. To do this, connect the power to the PAD6 control unit and 5000 series indicator and ensure the connections are up and running as described in Step 1 - Connecting the 5000 series indicator to the PAD6 control unit via Bluetooth.

Pairing the two devices

To pair a PAD6 Radio Remote Control to the PAD6 control unit:

  1. Touch the AUTO SETUP on the PAD6 control unit, then quicky (within 5 seconds).

2. Press both the left arrow (2) and right arrow (3) buttons together on the Radio Remote Control.

The REMOTE light on the PAD6 control unit will light up, so you can release the buttons on the Radio Remote Control.

The gates on the autodrafter should then be operational.

Note: Pairing can be done in any order, while holding the left (2) and right (3) arrow buttons down on the Radio Remote Control first, then touching the AUTO SETUP button, will also work.

Caution: Make sure the battery light flashes red when any button on the Radio Remote Contorl is pressed. If not, then the battery needs replacing (AA battery).

Replacing the battery on the Radio Remote Control

Note: No battery is required with the Cabled Remote Control, as that is powered from the PAD6 control unit.

To replace the single battery:

  1. Unscrew the back cover from the Prattley Radio Remote.

  2. Take out the battery and replace it with a double AA battery.

  3. Re-screw up the Radio Remote Control.
