Adding connected energizers to your farm using Datamars Pro

You need to register connected energizers to your Datamars Livestock farm.

Updated over a week ago

📝 This procedure can only be done using the Datamars Pro mobile app, not the web app.
📝 You must have admin permissions to perform this procedure.

Adding connected energizers to your farm in Datamars Livestock allows you to control and view the status of energizers via the internet. Energizers only need to be registered once.

Before you start:

  1. There must be a Wi-Fi internet connection in the location where the energizers are installed. If you have not installed a Wi-Fi network, be sure to read Considerations when setting up a Wi-Fi network for use with connected energizers.

  2. 💡 If you've previously used Datamars Livestock with a connected energizer, you can log into Datamars Pro using your existing login details.

  3. Check that the Bluetooth® setting is enabled on your phone.

  4. Position yourself beside the energizer.

To register a connected energizer to your farm:

  1. Position yourself beside the energizer (within 2 m/6').

  2. Launch the Datamars Pro mobile app.

  3. Tap on Devices, then Connect nearby energizer.
    The energizer will be displayed.

  4. Tap Connect.
You have now established a Bluetooth connection and the energizer current voltage will be displayed.

  5. Tap Add to farm.

  6. Select the Wi-Fi network you would like to connect to, enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Connect.
📝 The Wi-Fi network must be 2.4 GHz, not 5 GHz.

  7. Set the energizer location to the GPS location and tap Confirm.
This can be changed later in the web app, if required.

  8. Set the energizer voltage and tap Confirm.

  9. Tap Finish:

Once you have registered an energizer to the farm, complete these steps:

  • Change the name of the energizer so you can identify the energizer and its location easily in Datamars Livestock.

  • Set the energizer voltage thresholds

  • Turn on/off notifications for a particular energizer

  • Programme the energizer to communicate with a Remote Control Fault Finder (if you have one).
