This process applies to:

In most circumstances, the standard method for updating device firmware should be used. However, during troubleshooting, a support team member may recommend updating the device firmware from a file. Updating device firmware from a file is done using Data Link PC software.
🤚Before you start:
download and install Data Link PC software.
we recommend backing up data on your device as a precaution.
The update file will be supplied to you by the support team. The file will either be:
a .tgz file for 5000 indicators OR
a .bin file for EziWeigh7i indicators OR
a .hex file for EID readers
Save this file somewhere on your PC (e.g. your desktop or downloads folder)
To update the device firmware from a file:
Connect your Tru-Test device to a PC using the USB cable supplied with your device.
Launch Data Link PC software:
Click Tools and Updates:
Select Update device firmware from a file:
Select the updater file you saved to your PC earlier (.tgz, .bin or .hex file, depending on your device).
Follow the prompts.
