You can use the reports feature in Datamars Livestock to select multiple animals and add these to a draft (sort) list for the Dairy Drafter.

Here are some examples of ways to use reports and filters to select a particular group of animals for drafting:

  • Use the Repro Issues report to find animals which are Anestrous. These can be drafted off for hormonal treatment.

  • Use the Breeding report to find animals which have recently been inseminated. These can be drafted off for pregnancy checking.

  • Use the Pregnancy report to find animals which are about to calf. These can be drafted off and monitored in case they require assistance during calving.

Notes:

  • Adding multiple animals from a report to a draft list can only be done using the web app, not the mobile app.

  • Animals which are manually added to a draft list from a report but are NOT drafted during the milking session, will NOT be added to the next draft list automatically. This will need to be done manually.

The example below shows a Repro Issues report containing animals with Irregular heats during the previous two week period. These animals will be drafted off for a health treatment to induce a heat.

To select multiple animals in a report and add them to a draft list:

  1. Open a report and set filters to find a subset of animals to draft.

  2. Select the animals to be drafted and click Add animals to draft list.

  3. Select the draft list and the pen number you want to draft them to.
