Connecting to an energizer using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi in Datamars Pro

You can connect to an energizer using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi using the Datamars Pro app.

This article applies to:

  • U20000W, U15000W, U15000W-E Unigizers

  • 31000W, 46000W, 86000W Mains Energizers*

* If you previously used the Datamars Livestock mobile app with your energizer, download the Datamars Pro mobile app for improved performance. Log in using your old credentials, no further setup is required.

There are two methods of connecting to an energizer in Datamars Pro:

  • Using Bluetooth® OR

  • Using Wi-Fi.

Both methods allow you to configure the energizer, but there are some important differences.

Differences between Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections

You can connect to an energizer using Bluetooth if you are near the energizer (within 2 m/6').

💡 This is the best method to use if there is no Wi-Fi connection where your energizer is installed.

You can connect to an energizer using Wi-Fi if there is a Wi-Fi connection where your energizer is installed.

💡 This is the best method to use if you want to view and control the energizer from anywhere there is cell phone coverage. Wi-Fi also allows you to receive alerts if the energizer voltage falls below a certain threshold.

📝 To use a Wi-Fi connection, you must first register a connected energizer to your farm.

Connecting to an energizer via Bluetooth:

To connect to an energizer via Bluetooth:

  1. Position yourself beside the energizer (within 2 m/6').

  2. Launch Datamars Pro.

  3. Tap on Devices, then Connect nearby energizer.
    The energizer will be displayed.

  4. Tap Connect.

A blue light will illuminate on the energizer to indicate it is connected by Bluetooth:

📝 These instructions assume that the energizer has already been registered to your farm.

  1. Launch Datamars Pro.

  2. Tap on Devices, then in the Fence Monitoring panel tap on Energizers. All energizers registered to the farm are listed.

  3. Tap on the energizer you want to connect to:

A white light will illuminate on the energizer to indicate it is connected to Wi-Fi:
